Many AFOLs have expanded the fictional geography of Legoland by adding places within and without its imagined borders. Some have created entire worlds that exist almost entirely in writings while others have created elaborate communities built in LEGO bricks.

Inspired by the Town theme (later called City) several LEGO municipalities have been created and named by the fans who built them.

Many of these imagined communities are protected by LEGO fire departments which for a time was almost what could be called a fan created theme.

Bricksburg

The town of Bricksburg is the setting for the story in The LEGO Movie, an animated film released in 2013.

Countries

The Knights' Kingdom series included maps and stories in and around the fictional Kingdom of Morcia. Great Brickain is another nation based on Great Britain. Dametreos is a kingdom created as part of the Classic-Castle Roleplay game.

In addition, the Democratic Republic of Lego States, is featured on the BrickArms Forums as the home of the LS Army 2nd Infantry Division's "A" Company.

In the short film Raiders of the Lost Brick on the Indiana Jones section of a plane flies over a map of the world and several countries are shown including:

  • Brick Island
  • Costa Brica
  • Legodonia
  • Legolandia (Capital: Bolegoa)
  • Legodor
  • Malego
  • Redbrickistan

At BrickFair 2009 Sandy Cash displayed a section of Brickistan, a Middle-Eastern inspired Emirate.
