Head

LEGO has produced a wide variety of Head elements for the different varieties of figures.

Minifigure

The most common and iconic head element is the Smiley (sometimes referred to as the yellow smiley for its most common colour) and a regular feature of classic LEGO themes. After the introduction of the minifigure it was many years until heads appeared with any other printing than the smiley face and it was not until the introduction of the Star Wars theme that heads for minifigures were sculpted into different shapes that would still fit on a standard torso.
