An important researcher at MIT MediaLab, Seymour Papert invented the LOGO programming language, and was instrumental in the creation of MindStorms and the RCX Programmable Brick. MindStorms is named in honor of his seminal book on children's learning Mindstorms: Children, Computers and Powerful Ideas.

It is widely held that he's not necessarily a fan in the way AFOLs are, but he has a deep respect for the learning aspects of LEGO.
