MindFest

A seminal gathering, perhaps one of the first organized gatherings of AFOLs, held at MIT in 1999. Participants were able to tour the MIT Media Lab where a lot of original LEGO research was done. The MediaLab and the work of Seymour Papert were very important in the development of MindStorms and the RCX programmable brick.

Suzanne Rich was at MediaLab at the time.

It is said by many that the inspiration for the original BrickFest came from MindFest attendees who wanted to reproduce the experience.
