LPub main screen

LPub is a computer program written by Kevin Clague to generate good quality building instructions out of LDraw models utilising a variety of other CAD software.

It allows the user to set many options, and also arrange images by inserting commands in the source LDraw file.

Information about LPub is somewhat scattered.

Tips and Tricks

Note: these tips and tricks were tested using LPub 4.0.0.14 and LDView 4.1.

  • You can darken the lines on part edges, at least if LDView is the rendering engine. Open LDView and go to Edit->Preferences..., then select the Geometry tab. Increase the Thickness and press Apply. The next time LPub renders, it will use the new setting.
  • You can increase the distinction between parts by darkening lines, or by increasing the "seam width" between parts, at least if LDView is the rendering engine. Open LDView and go to Edit->Preferences..., then select the Geometry tab. Increase the Seam Width and press Apply. The next time LPub renders, it will use the new setting.
  • The full list of LDView settings can be found from the LDView Help menu. Some of the are apparently over-ridden by the LPub command line.
