LEGOLAND Discovery Centers, are theme parks designed for families with children aged 2 to 12. Smaller then the LEGOLAND parks the attractions features activities ranging from hands-on LEGO play to life-sized LEGO adventures designed to provide several hours of family entertainment centered around the iconic interlocking colored bricks.

Discovery Centers combines LEGO model building and unusual construction challenges with theme park-like attractions such as dragon rides, adventure trails, and 4D cinemas incorporating fantastical LEGO creatures and LEGO-based special effects. There are also DUPLO play areas for younger children, birthday party rooms, LEGO caf├ęs, LEGO stores, and special rooms with rotating exhibitions of work by LEGO Master Builders.



All locations are run by Merlin Entertainments Group, the world's second biggest visitor attractions operator after Disney with 51 attractions and four hotels in 12 countries including Madame Tussaud's. Merlin is partially owned by LEGO.

The first Discovery Center in Germany was at the Potsdamer Platz, Berlin [2].


A new location is being built in Boston scheduled to open in 2014.


The Chicago [3] Discovery Center is located in Woodfield Mall.

Dallas/Fort Worth

The Dallas location [4] is at Grapevine Mills Mall.


In 2013 a new location in Fredericksburg, VA was announced fre as a possible location.

Kansas City

Kansas City [5] can be found at the Crown Center shopping mall.


The first location in the UK, Manchester [6] is in the Trafford Centre.


The Oberhousen Discovery Center [7] is in the CentrO Shopping Mall.


Tokyo [8] is the first location in Japan and can be found in Decks Mall.


Located in a suburb of Toronto the Vaughan Mills shopping mall location [9] was the first Discovery Center in Canada.


Westchester [10] is in Ridge Hill, NY.
