Kitbash

Kitbash is a term which can mean to combine parts from two different sets to make a new or modified model.

The definition is somewhat unclear as it has been imported from the plastic model building community (see: wikipedia:kitbashing). This leads to confusion because most MOCs are made up of elements from more than two sets (if the builder has even noted where the parts come from.) Some would say the term has no real meaning in a system designed intentionally to allow for free-building as opposed to plastic model kits which provides parts to build a specific airplane, train, vehicle, etc, however the term is often used to describe MOCs which incorporate significant assembled portions of official sets, such as the cab of a truck built according to the official instructions, but joined to an entirely original body.
