Brickwiki talk:Trustees

The current trustees make nominations and come to a consensus on a nominee but any active Brickwikian may comment - politely - on a nomination.

This page contains only unresolved nominations. Brickwiki:Trustees/archive contains past nomination discussions.

I think real names should be required for any trustee. (If there is no serious objection to this notion I will annotate the current list to reflect the names, I added mine already) ++Lar: t/c 12:35, 29 May 2012 (CDT)

I don't see a big need to use it on the nomination page as most people will know a nominee by their user name. Don't the user pages have real names? I think real names would be good on the project page as a more formal listing. Tedward 16:16, 29 May 2012 (CDT)
I am not sure that user pages REQUIRE real names, although it's a convention that they are used. I'm saying that to be confirmed as a trustee, real names ought to be required. I will be voting against any prospective trustee that is not willing to reveal their real name. ++Lar: t/c 11:43, 30 May 2012 (CDT)
OK, I see what you mean and I agree with you completely. I was thinking more of the housekeeping than the underlying issue. Yes, real names should be required for Trustees at the very least (and for all users if I had my druthers). Tedward 12:28, 30 May 2012 (CDT)
I don't have a strong opinion. If we are willing to accept them as a trustee, by definition we trust them. And if we trust them, the requirement to disclose their real name is redundant for the purpose of approving them. However, once they become a trustee, I can see how knowing their real names would help maintain that trust among the community. --ALittleSlow 05:37, 31 May 2012 (CDT)

Just thought I'd note that I am going to be away from the intertubes for the next week on holiday in case anyone needs me. Tedward 11:14, 13 August 2012 (CDT)
